You know what probably would make this process easiest? If he just magicked the stalks to braid themselves...but then that would be admitting that he could not do this on his own and that was a brand of humiliation the Slytherin was not willing to accept. Same with accepting help from his peers - not that any had offered him any. ~~James~~ Eiji Rasting was funny like that. But that did not mean he was above eavesdropping when he heard the two Gryffindors dicussing how-to. Which...really wasn't anything new from what Professor Noble had already instructed. So...that was greaaaaaaaaaaaaat.

Keeping his head down like everyone else, Eiji painstakingly moved each stalk using his tweezers this time and managed something that...if you squinted a bit could pass as a braid. Needless to say...he was NOT pleased with the end result, but the initial five minutes of simmer was almost up and he was not about to fall behind - for the first time in his Hogwarts career - because of three stupid lavender stalks. Thus, into the cauldron the "braid" went (and right smack in the middle, thank you very much) and then another five minute simmer it was. Scowl on his face, though thankfully that was mostly hidden beneath his shaggy hair that could really use a trim, he applied the appropriate clockwise stirs when it was time.

Apparently karma, which he did not believe in to begin with, was catching up to him this term. Drop DADA, nearly get run through by Godric Gryffindor. Deny his little sister daisy chain and flower crown making time since she first asked him to play with her, now he couldn't properly brew a potion to his standards.

Life was cruel.

+ 70 ml of flobberworm mucus

+ brain lavender stalks; tie off
+ add to cauldron
+ simmer for 5 minutes
+ 2 clockwise stirs
