SPOILER!!: Catch up; first brewing steps

Cole had just retaken his seat when Professor Noble demonstrated the next steps. Finely chopping chamomile leaves didn't seem so hard but braiding lavender heads, please no..... Trying not to show the panic that was rising within him Cole focused on the first task. After quickly cleaning his silver knife he got to work with finely chopping his scrunched and bundled up chamomile leaves in the demonstrated rocking motion. When he had got a tablespoon full of leaves chopped, he sprinkled them over the water and set his timer to 5 minutes.

Now it came to the hard part; the dreaded braiding. Cole picked up his three lavender heads and tried to braid. The first attempt failed. It felt like he had too big fingers for this. Trying again with the same result he turned his head to Naya desperation clear in voice. "Naya, how am i supposed to braid without chopping off a flower head? Is there a trick?"

The positive thing was that he didn't get scared right off the bat like before. He could do this. He just he had to take it slow and follow the steps to the letter. It helped that he had Naya beside him that Cole could get pointers from when he was feeling unsure of what to do. Taking out his wand, he used it to clean his cauldron, scissors, measuring cup and container. It wouldn't do to mess up because of improperly cleaned materials. He then wrote down the brewing instructions carefully, checking them against Naya's. After taking a breath he got to work, setting his cauldron to a low heat and then focusing on the flobberworm mucus. With concentration he measured up the correct amount of 70ml flobberworm mucus and poured it into his cauldron to heat. Rising from his seat Cole went up front and cut off the three lavender head flowers with the use of his wand, making very sure that he had at least five inches of stalk left.
