~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ It be like that sometimes. It all came back like one quick, grand tsunami. Acromantulas, doggos being taken, battling the acromantulas, doggos being taken, Trent, Fuller- Thompson, doggos being taken… Claudien sat up, wincing as she did so, at the same moment that Trent was having a go at Bernie. “It.. it wasn’t her fault,’’ she meekly and quietly tried to defend her friend. “I dragged her into this.’’ She couldn’t meet any of the three pairs of eyes; she was so ashamed and regretful. Not even as she was helped and soon standing on her feet. Claudine barely cared that her privileges were being stripped from her. All she wanted was a nice, warm bed and a dreamless bit of sleep. “I’d like to walk, please,’’ she mumbled to Fuller-Thompson. The Levitation charm was off of the Lioness now, it seemed, since Bernie was hobbling off. Besides, Claudine’s legs felt fine; it was her arms that were still paining.
Now, Claudine did care that she had gotten Bernie into trouble. The other girl was her only female friend. So she did something that she rarely did for anyone: Claudine sidled up to Bernie to slip a hand into one of the Gryffindor’s to offer some support. “If you need to, you can lean on me. And Bernie? I’m sorry.’’ She wanted to cry too but wasn’t quite ready to do so in front of others. Maybe when she was in bed. |
