She’d like to think that Eris’s encouragement went a long way in helping her transfigure two hats and she smiled up at the man. “Thank you,’’ she murmured. Could they always have professors who were so encouraging?
Now she was eyeing the hats she had created. They were mainly for the winter weather but that wasn’t a bad thing, right? She just had one more hat in mind- a winter one- before she would switch to sunny hats. The third piece of fabric was before her now. “Tectum Caput.” The incantation was so familiar now and the wand movement came naturally. Claudine really felt at home with this spell. There were a few hiccups which led her to ‘Reverte’ the cloth back to its original form. It was on her fourth attempt that there was success.
There was now a rainbow coloured hat sitting on her desk, complete with a rainbow coloured fluffy thingy at the top for extra cuteness. In her mind, this would be perfect for a baby born to same-gender parents. <3 Quote:

She wanted a red one for him in particular, since he was a GRYFFINDOR baby, so she selected a red scrap of fabric for her next hat.
"Tec-toom KAAA-pooot," the second year again cast in her emphasized way. AHA. Perfect. This hat looked JUST RIGHT for Finneas. Bernie got to work on the next hat, which she would give to St. Mungo's. Quote:

...and it wouldn't be, because this next one was going in the St. Mungo's box!
She did, in fact, have some extra fabric by her, so there was no point in collecting anymore right now. She knew what color she wanted this next hat to be, too---green! Why green? Well, because Isla was a Slytherin, and she wanted to put something relating to her into this next hat. The new baby would have no idea, but it was the thought that counted, right?
Isla placed the fabric directly in front of her and imagined a hot pink color. No, no--light pink! That seemed more like a little baby. "Tectum Caput!" she said. She went through all the wand movements again, and within seconds, a pretty pink hat was before her. Pleased that she was getting the hang of things, she decided that if time allowed, she might even make a third hat. In the meantime, she placed her hat in the donation basket and headed back to her seat. Quote:

He would have been them if the roles had been reversed, plus he wasn't hurt. Only a bit shocked. "I'm fine, Professor" he said with a wave of his hand as he watched him repair the chair and he stood up, dusting his Hufflepuff robe off with his hands. "Lost my balance?" he shrugged. "I don't know, maybe i said the incantation wrong or something?" He was rather gifted in vanishing things without knowing how he did it..."Sorry about that..."
He stooped down to pick up his wand from the floor before taking a seat on the freshly repaired chair and looked around. His fall didn't make him feel embarrassed but what did was the fact that he saw Isla and Claudine making a hat after hat. How did they do it? And why did he have trouble with it?
Concentrating on the fabric, Minjae visualized once again a teal colored woolen hat with a pom pom on top of it , rotated his wand clockwise and said "Tectum Caput" The fabric shifted on his desk, the color changed in to a yellow one and ...thats it. Uuuuugh! "Tectum Caput!" he waved his wand again. "Tectum Caput, Tectum caput, Tectum Caput...." feeling frustrated that he wasn't able to transfigure a hat AT ALL, Minjae put his wand back inside of his pocket and leaned back in his chair, folding his arms over each other as he did so and sulked. Stupid spell. Quote:

Heath looked up from his desk long enough to pay attention to the professor’s next set of instructions: transfigure as many hats as possible in the next ten minutes. He bit his lower lip, lost in thought. This wasn’t a competition to see who could make the most hats, was it? Like, there wasn’t a prize or extra house points at stake… Knowing him, he’d fail miserably and let everyone down if that was the case!
Heath took a deep breath, turning his attention back to his work. He looked at his failed attempts and wondered if he should try again for a bowtruckle-inspired hat. No, he decided. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. He’d stick with something he knew he could do: cat hats. What color cat should he try now? He looked at the last fabric square remaining on his desk. It was a weird sort of orangey-brown color. Ooh, that gave him an idea! He’d try an orange tabby cat hat… sort of like the gray one he did earlier, only orange with white stripes.
Concentrating as hard as he could on his design, Heath made the clockwise circle wand movement and touched his wand to the material. “Tectum Caput!” DId that work? He examined the result. It was definitely a hat. It had cat ears, and it was orange… but it didn’t have the white stripes like he’d pictured. Heath frowned, slightly disappointed by the lack of stripes, but at least he got the color and the ears right. While not exactly what he wanted, it was close enough to donate.
As he set the orange cat hat beside the gray one he made earlier, a thought occurred to him. What if his cat hats went to a set of twins? That would be so cute! Quote:

Turning to the fabric again she decided to try more of a flowery design with some pinks and purples. Doing the wand movement, "Tectum Caput" and she watched as the fabric transformed into the cutest white hat with purple and pink flowers. Slipping it on Mila's head it had worked perfectly and the doll looked cute in it. 'What do you think Ewan?" Her eyes moving to her partner in the muggle studies project as he worked on his own hat.
Turning back to the fabric she thought about the one she needed to make for St. Mungo's. Maybe she'd make two. One could be for a little girl and the other a boy. "Tectum Caput" She said and did the movement as she thought about another cute little purple hat. This time with cats.
The fabric turned and soon there was a cute purple hat with little cats on it.
Carwyn moved around the room, not really interrupting their work as everyone worked to create their hats. He leant on the edge of his desk after he had done one last walk around. He couldnt help the smole that teased his lips at the determination so many of the students were displaying. He hadn't even given up on Minjae. (... Well, until he seemed to stop trying and stopped crossing his arms in what seemed to Carwyn like a huff).
Looking at the clock, he called out softly. "Work on your last hat now, then start to tidy up, everyone." Carwyn paused and straightened up, moving the wicker basket to the middle of the desk. "Thank you all for your hard work today... Remember to come and put your spare hats in the basket for St Mungo's." he was proud with what they had accomplished today. ooc: hi loves. Have a few more hours to finish up, and I'll close this thread around 6.30am gmt before I head to work. Thank you all for coming it's been fun!
