The walk up to the towers had been a long and unfruitful one. With all the portraits hanging about the castle, he didn't suspect it would be this difficult to find arguably the most important ones.
"Check along the walls, inside the crates, check for hidden doors in the flooring." You never knew with that last one and the man wasn't going to go overlooking anything.
"Does anyone remember ever running into them, specifically? One a wall or otherwise?" He couldn't. Perhaps he had....but his first term, they had man eating furry things and thereafter, disruption after disruption. Remembering the location of portraits had become far from a priority for him.
How he regretted that now.
