Excitement. Giddiness. Curiosity. It was weighted on her conscious as she removed her smart black coat, revealing a black leather mini dress. Situations like these were always awkward when it came to knowing what to wear but she’d made an effort today having sacrificed her life to the ministry since she’d started. Besides, this was nothing in comparison to what she’d wore at the event last year. Oh, how she missed wearing the gold dress that had got her many appreciative looks.
Placing her coat down on one of the seats, the sleek haired blonde made her way over to the bar, avoiding the group of men who were clearly discussing what song they should sing. She had not had enough beverages to get on stage yet. As she made her way to the bar, she couldn’t help but notice her head of department (January Bones) lurking at the back alone with a drink in her one hand. Truth be told, she was actually glad to see her, even if she didn’t plan on talking to her just so that she wasn’t the only one too dressed up for a place like this. Giving her a friendly smile, she ordered a drink at the bar and turned to face the room, ready to be overwhelmed by some awful singing because let’s be honest, it was the dreadful singing that people came for really. Straightening his sleeves absentmindedly, he headed over to the treats table and broodily began to munch on some crisps as he watched the latest employee stumble up to the stage to embarrass themselves. Was Chloe ready to sing? Almooossttt but first things first, find some familiar faces. Or well maybe not, cause embarrassing yourself in front of a room full of strangers was actually kinda better?? Wasn't it? Speaking of which, she did recognize the girl vaguely and she was looking super cute. Which Chloe was never one to shy away from compliments - or negativity either but that was needed in this case. Steering herself over to the girl for a brief moment, she grinned at the blond, "You're looking super cute! Love the dress!"
And then Caleb walked in. She had never been terribly close friends with him but he had dated her best friend and they did graduate together so she quickly turned from the girl and waved at Caleb, "Caleb!!!! Hiiii!!!! You want to sing a song with me?" Her eyes were bright and hopeful. Quote:

If you looked directly at him, was he a bit jittery looking? Definitely. Could one chalk it up to too much caffeine? Possibly.
Getting him to participate in an events would require adult drinks. Not because he required liquid courage in order to get up in front of people and sing, but because it was getting up in front of his peers and underlings. Alas…Conley wasn’t partaking of such beverages. He usually only indulged in a glass (maybe two) when at work function. But with the way he had been feeling lately, there was no way he was mixing alcohol with his nerves. Instead, he sipped his tea, wishing desperately that Sachin was with him. Lately his fiancé was the only one who made him feel less apprehensive.
Unlike himself, it appeared that a few people were having fun. The Minister of course was in his element. A few of the Ministry leaders were lingering around too. His eyes fell on them, wondering if they too were feeling a bit…twitchy. January who happened to be nearby looked about as happy as ever. He didn’t see anyone from his department, but that didn’t surprise him. Not with the news that had been coming in from various parts of the wizarding community. Nope, he was content to stay near the wall and just people watch. Welll there was at least one person she recognized and Louise wondered if he didn't see her? Because her boss definitely hadn't noticed her standing there and she had to wonder if she was invisible. Guess he had a lot on his mind. And she kind had been preoccupied herself over the last few months keeping a low profile. Making her way over to him, she smiled his way. "Mr Phora. Nice evening, isn't it? You going to delight us with a song?"
