"I needed a little down time... a few moments to think about nothing." That had been the idea as she had walked into the room but maybe it wasn't the best idea now. "Would you mind some silent company? I'll even crank the music back up?" Silence wasn't usually her thing but music was and all her friends knew that.

Rylee crinkled up her nose a little in thought. Normally she would question his attitude and behavior but you know what? She wasn't going to. Not right now anyhow.
A slight trace of guilt festered on his face for a moment as the taller Ravenclaw prefect looked down at his friend. Sure, he wanted to be alone but he hadn’t meant to upset her at least. Someone else maybe but not her. “Sorry…” he replied, placing the wooden stool down and sitting on it now, his back to the canvas. “I just kinda came here to relax. You can stay if you want” As long as she was quiet and didn’t ask too many questions. Sure, he couldn’t tell her what to do but he didn’t feel like answering a load of questions today. Not now at least.

Pulling his wand out, he cranked up the music a little more, not as loud as it had been but loud enough for his to blur out the constant guilt that had been whirling in his head. Giving her a small smile, he turned back to his ‘art’ and picked up the brush again, ready to resume his distraction. Only, now it had all been shattered. The bubble that had kept him so occupied and numb had been broken and there was no going back. As he slowly moved the brush to create more lines and angles, the small smile that had briefly occupied his face was now gone. Replaced by a grimace. Luckily, no one could see it.
