On all levels except physical, Kaiser was facepalming. Phoebe - he might have been confused about her uncanny ability to show up where he was at the weirdest times if he had not known since the previous term about a certain hobby of hers - and Isla, that one Slytherin first year, had spoken to the weird man just as the Hufflepuff had done. Phoebe was even going on about his beard and...
... yes, the facepalming vibes were real.
The guy had seen him skulking too - which was great, astounding, and also... a bit weird being accused of such a thing by a Salazar Slytherin-esque individual - and had called Kaiser over. For a moment, he wasn't sure what to do. It was incredibly tempting to pretend he hadn't noticed any man or summons, just turn away and leeeeeave... but then Kaiser took one look at Phoebe and Isla and even the Hufflepuff kid, and knew he couldn't walk away. Could be dangerous, if something happened the guilt would plague him for life, et cetera, et cetera. He reluctantly stepped forward and closer to the... gathering, but stopped about halfway. Here was fine. Plenty close enough.
"A little bit late for Hallowe'en, isn't it?" he asked, a touch uncertainly, not even positive if that was what was going on here (practically anything could happen at Hogwarts, after all). But if it was... well. Not the best costume to pick, was it?
Kaiser didn't have an answer for Gunnar when he, too, arrived; he'd be able to see for himself what was going on, as none of them had any extra information. "Can you send a patronus to Trent?" he said, speaking directly to Gunnar for the first time in... he couldn't even remember how long. Kaiser couldn't even look right at him for very long; his gaze soon flitted briefly to the house elf down the corridor, just for something else to look at. "I think he needs to... see. This." And Kaiser's patronus was not exactly, uhh... functional, these days.
Maybe this guy was some kid just dressing up. Maybe someone who was not supposed to be in the castle had somehow got in. Maybe someone had raised the long-dead founder. However Kaiser looked at it, it was better to be safe than sorry.
