What had come before it though, he hadn’t caught. ”What?” he turned around, one hand still on the counter as if its anchorage would attract the attention of the person working behind it. ”Who? Oh- that’s me. I’m Kalen.” He blinked owlishly for a moment wondering what exactly he was supposed to be doing. ”Ah….”
He’d never been on a blind date (or many normal dates for that matter) and while bowling had been his idea, he wasn’t sure what was supposed to be happening now. Was this Anna? Or someone who knew her? Had she sent someone to tell him to bugger off because blind dates were dumb and who wanted to hang out with the weird American who had just moseyed into town? If she was Anna, she was cute. If she wasn’t Anna, well, she was still kinda cute. So…he should just ask already right? ”Arreeee you Anna?” Perhaps he should have asked her to wear blue or maybe orange – yes, orange would have stuck out in a place like this. Blue wouldn’t have. He made a mental note for the next blind date he set up: Ask the girl to wear a bright color so you know what to look for. Oh! Or even better. A big goofy hat..like that lady who had the giant turkey on hers out in the shopping center. Anna laughed at the guy's reaction. "Are you sure about that?" She asked jokingly, giving him a funny look. Hm, not bad to look at. So far so good!
She chuckled a bit more when he asked if she was Anna. "I am, and I'm sure about it." The brunette replied with a firm nod, amused. His accent was interesting, different enough that it would catch people's attention and Anna thought that was cool. Even if he turned out to be loud and obnoxious, she was used to that kind of stuff thanks to her brother. If he turned out to be the calm type... well, she was also used to that thanks to her other brother. She should be alright dealing with this Kalen guy. "Whereabouts in America are you from then?"
As they were technically 'together', Anna leaned over the counter too, as that wouldn't be seen as queue-jumping. Since Kalen had started the conversation with the person behind the counter, she left him to carry on and looked around, laughing at some people rolling some talking heads towards the pins. This was so much better than Muggle bowling!
