Lovely™ | Captain Hurted | Ariana's Bane | Resident Antagonist | Unparalleled Delight Trent with the callout. Had to happen, really.
Kaiser made himself smile a little, shrugged, and did at least speak up. Direct question, and from a member of staff he had a lot of respect for; he wasn't very well going to ignore him. "Never too early, Headmaster Trent." It was a joke, see? He could still joke. You would never have guessed that that was what it was, from his tone and the way he then immediately slid back into angst mode, but he could totally joke. Ha. See?
As others arrived, and received greetings of their own, Kaiser stood by and eyed the dummies along the wall. Their presence wasn't much of a clue; he'd seen them used for all sorts of class activities. Perhaps that was why he kept eyeing them, in case they suddenly burst into life.
The sound of the slamming door brought Kaiser's attention back to Trent - the slam never surprised him these days, it was all part and parcel of Defence Against the Dark Arts lessons.
Anyway. Yes. Duelling. Easy question, really. Even Kaiser, who would have been content to sit back and say nothing until the spell-casting became necessary (non-verbals were... yeah, no), immediately thought of an answer that seemed worth sharing. It was sort of the same as what the others had said, but also... sort of not. He half-raised his hand, as was his custom. "People can easily get carried away. They get frustrated, upset, angry. Emotional. They stop seeing sense, and start to try and really hurt each other, even if it started off as a harmless, fun duel, or nobody expected it to get so bad. People just get carried away." He lowered his hand again, right as he added. "Kids especially."
He may or may not have been speaking from... a wealth of experience. Not with duelling as such, but... yeah.
