For now though....quite an eager one this one. He liked it.

"Well put together, too. Glad to see some already taking the term so seriously. You keep that up now, no matter what the older students tell you."

He would stop the corruption anyway he could. Something inevitably happened. It was probably all that time together in the common room. Maybe it was the puberty. Who really knew.

There was also the fact that she was trying to come up with ways that her and Fi could show that Kodee Chosen that he WASN'T going to intimidate them JUST 'cause he was a seventh year. ALSO, she'd been worrying about Catherine and hoping she wasn't TOO miserable sleeping with the Ravenclaws, who were her people now. It was a LOT to handle on a kid's first night at Hogwarts, OKAY? Cecelia simply COULDN'T bring herself to sleep and she was sporting some very lovely dark circles under her otherwise bright, eager eyes because of it. OOPS!

By some miracle, the first year was STILL able to drag herself out of bed on time and even score some breakfast before reporting to class, the usual pep still in her step despite her exhaustion. "Hello Headmaster." She offered the guy a smile and a salute. He didn't hate her 'cause of the whole Beauxbatons debacle, DID he? She was hoping they could maybe start fresh 'cause of the new term and all, and she'd be doing her VERY best to win him over from this point forward, she WOULD.

Spotting Yoyo, Cecelia grinned and offered her an enthusiastic wave. Kaiser, her bestest older friend and protector ALSO got a wave. Hiiii. Kodee Chosen could LEARN a thing or two from Kaiser, JUST saying. He was the REAL deal seventh year. She saved her biggest greeting for Noah, though, who got a side hug and a BIG smile and a wiggle from the blonde. "Can you believe we're at Hogwarts together attending an ACTUAL class at Hogwarts?!" It was honestly a dream come true.

Oh. OH. "My name's Noah Mordaunt, Headmaster. I'm sorry I forgot to introduce myself," he said with a toothy smile as he looked up at the man. He was, of course, chuffed to hear the Headmaster's approval regarding his appearance. He'd have to thank his dad for that. Hygiene, especially THE HAIR was super important. Yep! "Will do so, Headmaster!" he said, turning away from him for a bit to scope the arena again for the new arrivals.

Slowly but surely the other students arrived, and as they did, the excitement kept piling up inside Noah. At some point, his mind wandered over to his twin, Catherine, and couldn't help but worry about her. She can get really homesick, most especially now that mum or dad won't be there in an instant should she need a quick round of cuddles. They'd have to have special permission to enter school and all that pesky restrictions. He knew that much, and he understood why it's going to be hard for Catherine. As he turned to see if she's made it to class yet, a VERY familiar being hugged him and in an instant hugged her back! "CECE! It's finally happening! It's unfair you already have a headstart with magic, but STILL." he said beaming from ear to ear. "This Mordaunt is finally on board!" Bring on the misadventures! "Lovin' the dark circles by the way." BEAM. It does seem she didn't get to sleep too.

"Have you seen Catherine?" Noah asked Cece as his eyes were glued on the door, "She can't possibly be late. It's not like her." And as if on cue, his twin arrived, and as expected she looked very miserable. She even FORGOT to greet the Headmaster and that made him turn his head towards the man, and then back to her. He was about to approach her when the Headmaster beat him to it. He'd love to butt in, but at this point, he'd rather have the adult deal with her so the Headmaster could see for himself what's going on...that is, if Catherine even decides to speak. And from a distance, he too saw Ewan, the Ravenclaw prefect. He was an interesting fellow from the feast last night, and he was looking forward to seeing him in action today. A 'sup?' nod was given to the 6' tall boy, and subtly gestured him towards one of his charges with his eyes. He met Catherine last night, so he was sure that he'd be able to keep an eye on her for the rest of the...well, term.

SPOILER!!: First Question!

Woe be unto those that had decided to be late. They would find no access to his class and very likely a makeup lesson later in detention. Just great.

He'd think about that later, for now, the man turned to face his students once more. "Welcome to Defense Against the Dark Arts. For those of you who haven't figured it out yet, or don't remember, my name is Malachi Trent. Headmaster Trent is the generally accepted term of referral. I accept 'Professor' as well while we're in lessons. The door I've slammed shut is a normal occurrence. Show up to class late and there will be no class for you to show up to." They would soon come to realize how literal he was being with that. It wasn't all the time that they remained in one place during a lesson. "Don't be here when I take attendance and you'll find more troubles than whatever led you to be absent in the first place." As it so happened, while at school, lessons were not optional.

Shocker.

Now then, with that little matter of house keeping taken care of...a lighter note. "Given the reading I know you all tried to get in before heading to class like the tremendous students I know you all are," He'd sent a message to their noticeboards, a greeting for when they woke up. Only a page or two. Nothing they couldn't have gotten done over breakfast. "It's time to talk a little about dueling." Yay, school, summer's over. Fun. "First, why do you think it's banned at Hogwarts without the expressed permission and supervision of a professor and can you see the logic in such a decision?"

See? Easy. Sometimes, it was best to ease the students into the term...other times you led them into a dark swamp and hoped they survived...but he digressed.

OOC: Hi everyone! The lesson has officially started. I know this seems like it's been moved a bit faster than usual but there was a whole issue with forum permissions and a mix up. No worries, you can still jump in, we've only just begun! You can simply say your charrie had been there all along--unless you want them late, lol. I'll be moving this along again in about 24 - 28 hrs. <3

With the slam of the door, Noah straightened up from his spot and gave Cecelia a wiggle of his brows. They were finally starting! As his usual, the Gryffindor did his best to stay focused on what was being said, from his name, to his title-- which by the way the 11-year-old decided that he'd stick to calling him Headmaster. When did he ever get lessons from a Headmaster anyway? Never. So this too was a FIRST.

If he was going to be asked if he was able to retain anything from his readings last night, he'd be lying if he said yes. It was kind of hard to focus when one is excited to get in on the action, but he's got things done too last night, like learning basic spells like the wand lighting charm which was super easy. Even his five-year-old brother can do it, he was sure. Well, if he was going to be tested today like a pop quiz of some sort, he'd just wing it like the usual.

At the mention of dueling, Noah's ears immediately perked. He'd probably combust from within at the excitement. Were they going to duel already? Fingers and toes crossed! At the Headmaster's question, however, Noah was forced to scale down his excitement and tried to recall the rare times he'd seen his dad and grandpa spar. He asked all kinds of questions afterward of course, like...were they scared? Because they might hurt each other? And Merlin forbid, singe their precious hairs in the process?

Well so far, his classmates' answers were pretty much what his dad or grandfather would tell him. But what made a mark on him from his early years was something that his dad told him about dueling and spells in general. Noah raised his hand and spoke when gestured to speak, "Aside from getting the spells wrong, some are irreversible and permanent that makes it really dangerous, Headmaster...like death." he said as he lowered his hand, "So I suppose, supervision should be in place but aside from actual supervision one can advise too on how to properly use a spell to maximize its effect. I guess the logic behind it is to learn from it and not use it as a method to hurt someone or something intentionally." at least that was what he has witnessed in the Mordaunt household wherein it's all about class and grace and... yeah, the works of an old, traditional wizarding family.
