Avalon couldn't conceal her excitement as she bounded into the shop, her parents on her heels, chuckling at their daughter's enthusiasm. It was finally time to get a new broom. She had wanted one for ages, but the timing never worked out. Although she made the Quidditch team during her first year at Hogwarts, she had to use one of the school's brooms. By the time her second year rolled around, she had saved up enough money to buy a Jollyrocket. But then they had to go to Beauxbatons, and Quidditch was suspended.

Avalon supposed that it worked out for the best, because now, she had saved up 133 galleons. Between babysitting for some of the Muggle children in her neighborhood and degnoming her grandparents' garden, she earned a good bit of gold over the summer. The best part was that her parents said they would chip in the rest if she wanted a Moontrimmer Dlite, partly as a late birthday present, and partly to reward Avalon for her budgeting skills.

Of course, Avalon spent hours researching the best Quidditch brooms before making her decision. And although the Moontrimmer Dlite was certainly the most expensive and prestigious, she was attracted to the reliability of the Nimbus line. Those brooms had been around for ages, and they never seemed to disappoint when it came to Quidditch. She gazed at the Nimbus 4000 model out on display, a smile spreading across her face. "That's the one," she said, turning to her parents with a nod.
