Although by the looks of it the girl who just stood there had it worse. Her face scrunched up in confusion. Why would you just stand around. Clearly there were more seats at her table and while Charlie was certain she looked a bit mean she was fairly certain she didn’t look like she would bite. Finally she decided she would just deal with the rude stranger herself instead of watching the awkwardness.
“You know you could sit at this table...” she moved her hands to show off the empty seats she had while waiting for her mother to come back. Might as well look less lonely and neglected. Catherine froze when she was certain there was a strange girl talking to her. Why would anyone talk to a stranger? Because Catherine was a stranger to that girl, so why was the girl talking to her in the first place? Who did that?
The young brunette pursed her lips a little and gulped, taking a deep breath before slowly turning first her gaze then her head towards the girl who had spoken to her. She quickly assessed if this girl seemed at least normal enough and... to be honest, part of her thought she was okay, but the other part couldn't help but feel that she could... hm, Catherine wasn't too sure how to put it into words. There was just something about that girl.
Mum said never to be rude to people - for no reason, Catherine always heard the complement of the sentence in her head - so the eleven quickly looked the other girl up and down before slowly... approaching the table. Then slowly taking a seat across from the unknown girl, making sure she could watch the girl's every move by the corner of her eye.
Trust no one. Well, no strangers, that was for sure. "Thanks..." Catherine said in a low tone anyway. She was suspicious, yes, but she also had good manners.
