Just another cup of coffee. That would work just fine.
It was coming up to the normal arrival time. For those who didn’t have to catch up on so much paper work, and didn’t have 304872394 reports to file before the end of today. She hated leaving for the weekend with work unfinished. Her actual deadline was first thing on Monday, but No! she would not let it hang over her head. She was going home this weekend for Zia Ciosa’s birthday. There was no way she was missing the party of the year, or cutting out early because she had been tardy with her work. She wouldn’t have it.
She just needed more coffee to make sure she got through everything before she left tonight. Even if that meant she was here later than everyone else.
So as she cursed the start of year meetings and end of year reports that always piled up, she poured herself another steaming hot mug of energy juice.
Megan was rarely in a bad mood, and today was no different. Her shoulder length blond hair was kept loose so hen she literally bounded into the Break Room. She needed a cup of coffee. She needed to be prepared for the boring reports that needed finishing and if a catastrophe was reported and she needed to head out into the field. Truth be told, Megan was always hoping that she be sent into the field because that’s where she loved to be. Not stuck behind a desk. “Oh, hey, Giulia. How’s it going?’’
Megan beamed at her coworker. The other woman was probably there for coffee too. |
