Not having her right hand man with her? Even more ugh.
What Eliora was most unimpressed by was James' replacement and she had absolutely no time for them in her calendar for the forseeable future. And she didn't have time for this event either. She was just here to say she had been. So no one could say that she wasn't. So no one could judge her. And no one could question the time off she had taken in December to get help with the nightmares she had about their visit to Hogwarts.
But she was back to reality after it all and for some stupid reason... the only thing that grounded her was the idea of James. See? Stupid. She was stupid and he was stupid and this whole thing was stupid and she missed sneaking into his office during the day to annoy him and putting salt in his drinks and spilling coffee on his desk and telling him just how much he loved her because he had to.
And knowing that she was the one with the feelings and couldn't dare act on them.
But whatever.
This auction thing provided a little help. James wasn't here, but he was still bidding. In her handwriting. And he also knew nothing about it. But there was only one person that she wanted to be spending her time with willingly. And at least she could guarantee one bid on her.
Was it time to go home yet?
