........ Okay, Kaiser had to admit it, that young Gryffindor had not made the wisest decision, but it had certainly been funny. He was very lucky that the lesson was so... chaotic, because he didn't have a single hope of keeping the amused look off of his face right now.
Except...
"Uh..." Why was the Summers girl sheltering by HIM? He wasn't involved! This wasn't his fight! He was not choosing this utterly hilarious hill to die on! Kaiser was not a fan of the idea of being a human shield between a first year and Desmarais. He sort of blinked down at the kid, and then briefly towards Desmarais before looking to de Nostredame who was yelling for everyone to drop their wands, which Kaiser was considering doing right when he saw it.
....... One of those creatures (which he now... thought looked like a gargoyle, though he couldn't say for sure that that was what he was looking at). Barrelling right towards Summers the first year, which meant it was barrelling right towards him.
No thought required. All thoughts of dropping his wand went straight out of his head, given the imminent danger. Kaiser - his amusement now fading, funnily enough - quickly leapt out of the path of the charging gargoyle(?), trying to pull the first year with him and hopefully getting them both out of harm's way.
