"GRR-OFF MY WAND!" Bernie continued shouting, RELENTLESS with the Devil Bird, honestly thinking she was just as ferocious as it was. She was certainly equally hardheaded, and she cared A LOT MORE about her wand than the bird thing probably cared for its Headmistress.
She tried to follow what her classmates were doing to help (we hear you, Cece, GOOD JOB, and we see you, Phoebe), and was very much concerned about what this French Headlady was doing to Claudine, but she could hardly tear her eyes away from the creature! Did it know her wand was MAHOGONY?! "I PAID ELEVEN (11) GALLEONS FOR THAT!" the first year shouted passionately into the birdbeak's face.

Bernadette quite literally fell backward onto the ground, clutching her damaged wand to her chest like it was her baby. She might not know how to use it yet, and she did usually keep it tucked in her boot, but it was HERS and HERS alone. Now that she was away from the MONSTER, she could hear Notre Dame SHOUTING at them all again and she promptly decided she had to PROTECT HER WAND or what remained of it AT ALL COSTS. Bernie flipped around so her wand was well-hidden beneath her bum, and held out her empty hands like Lucas was doing. She was sorely tempted to stick her tongue out at her Demon Bird Friend over there, though. SEE, stupid bird! YOU DON'T MESS WITH THIS GRYFFINDOR!

"Watch out, CECE!" Bernie cried out, tempted to cover her eyes. "A birdog is coming for you!" And Kaiser! Oh no, and another one was on the run! "EEEK! PHOEBEEEEEE!!!!" Don't be a lamb! "SAVE YOURSELF!!!!!!!!"
No, she could not watch. Bernie covered her eyes with her free hands. SOMEONE HAD TO SURVIVE THIS MESS to tell ALL the newspapers about how RUDE ZE FRENCH were!
