Bernadette let out a delightful little scream when she heard the FLAP FLAP FLAPPING sound of a big bird--- nay, GOAT --- coming near them. Then her scream turned from delightful to SHRILL as the GOAT BIRD bit down on her wand like an ugly pup biting down on a chew toy and refusing to let it go. She didn't have TIME to be afraid of its ugliness-- HER PRECIOUS, BEAUTIFUL WAND was at RISK!

"No! Shoo! NO! BAD DOG!" Bernadette growled at the stone-ish? Was it stone or--- or bird? Bat? Was it part bat? No, that was a goat--- NO A DEVIL! It was SATAN in BIRD FORM! And it was trying to EAT HER WAND!

"BAD DOG!" Bernadette admonished the DEVIL THING again, louder now, as she attempted to smack its head with her free hand. "GET. OFF. MY. WAND!"

Unintentionally ~~or was it? Was this how magic worked?~~ Bernadette's wand sent a few red-hot sparklers into the mouth of the Devil Bird.
