Kaiser had only about a millisecond to hope that the Gryffindor hadn't actually recognised him before he felt a grip on his arm that stopped him in his tracks. "Ah-mmph!" The yelp that had escaped him was instantly muffled. Merlin, for an older woman Professor Sandhu had a surprisingly strong grip.
Ohhhhh not good. Both Dakest and Sandhu were looking like someone had ripped out their hearts and stomped on them right before their eyes. Not only was Kaiser not keen on the idea of being blamed for any of this, he also did not know how to deal with two emotional Gryffindors, and nor did he particularly want to.
"... I was just coming to find someone." A lie, but to him it sounded much more convincing than the truth of 'it was like that when I got here'.
