Anyway, he did not hear that. What he heard was just another voice asking him what he was painting, it melted with the other voices at first but after a few seconds, Rory recognized that the voice was for a girl - unlike the crowd in the portrait. He paused and raised his head to find an actual girl standing over his head. He sat upright, trying to remember if he knew her from somewhere. "Uhm. Hello." He wiped a hand across his forehead looking back down at his painting. It was unintelligible still, just color swirls.
"I don't know yet..." He was basically unloading his frustration on canvas. Which was what one of the portrait men said aloud, but not in a flattering way. Rory shot a look at the portrait.
"What are you doing in this random part of the castle?" Anna stood there, looking down at him and his canvas covered in paint. She smiled when he looked up and said hello. Good, she liked it when she stumbled across people who weren't rude enough to not greet her back - and that had happened many a-times, so it was nice when it didn't. It was even better when the person speaking to you was covered in paint and didn't seem to care.
It was an interesting sight, if you asked her. The canvases covered in paint scattered all over the floor and even the stone floor itself didn't seem able to stay paint-free. Anna chuckled but chose not to say anything for now. He was probably very aware of what he was doing and how much paint was getting everywhere, especially as his robes and hands weren't exactly that clean either.
The Gryffindor Prefect nodded her head when he said he didn't know what the crazy paint strokes meant yet. As soon as one of the portraits voiced their opinion, she looked up to see who was talking. Unloading his frustration on canvas? Sounded like something one of her cousins would do.
Anna didn't blame the Ravenclaw, though. Frustration had been a common feeling amongst all of the student body trapped in the Castle for so many months now. It was surprising no one had lost it completely yet - not that she knew of, at least. "That's okay." She told the man made of paint on the portrait. "It's better than hexing people." She added looking down to give the Ravenclaw boy a reassuring nod. It made her life easier than having to deal with hooligans that couldn't control their frustrations within the upper floors of the Castle. Doing some crazy paint masterpiece was much better than many, many things she had to deal with before.
What was she doing in that random part of the Castle? "I suppose... trying not to hex anyone." She chuckled. So basically the same as him, in a way, minus the paint.
Hold on. Was that... "Are you Kodee's brother?" She asked. His age, his house, the paint. She was sure she had seen them together before. Or... had she? What was his name again? Anna wasn't the best with names, but she was sure she had seen his face before.
Or was she just making that up? Sigh, who knew anymore. Maybe she was losing it after all. |
