Never mind it was very likely to be because she couldn't do much nowadays. No outdoors to fly, no Great Hall to hang out in, no lower floors to look around. Her only option was to stay with other Gryffindors - and now Slytherins - in their Common Room or... stroll around other towers.
Ravenclaw didn't sound too boring right about now. It was different enough to get Anna's interest, and so she was there. Hey, hi, hello. Oh, a kid was out too, and he looked busy. Goodie, goodie! "Hey!" She greeted him, her voice perhaps sounding a bit louder than she intended or had it been intentional? Heh. "Whatchu painting?" She asked straight away, mimicking those above their heads and stretching up over him to try and have a better look at whatever it was eagle boy over there was doing. A boy??? Excuse you but Rory was a tall sixteen years old. Ahem. If he heard someone call him boy, that would not sit well with his ego. He wouldn't utter a word, but he was good at delivering his contempt without words or violence. His dry humor was the way he did it.
Anyway, he did not hear that. What he heard was just another voice asking him what he was painting, it melted with the other voices at first but after a few seconds, Rory recognized that the voice was for a girl - unlike the crowd in the portrait. He paused and raised his head to find an actual girl standing over his head. He sat upright, trying to remember if he knew her from somewhere. "Uhm. Hello." He wiped a hand across his forehead looking back down at his painting. It was unintelligible still, just color swirls.
"I don't know yet..." He was basically unloading his frustration on canvas. Which was what one of the portrait men said aloud, but not in a flattering way. Rory shot a look at the portrait.
"What are you doing in this random part of the castle?" |
