See, she would never willingly join a club centered around the subject. And so, no, she did not join Quiz Bowl and she never had any intention of participating in the events. She was, however, interested in how the others would fare and there was a tiny part of her that did want the satisfaction of knowing whether or not she could answer the questions posed at her peers.
And so she made a point to blend in with the rest of the students slipping into the room, following behind a crowd so that she didn't stick out like a sore thumb. But while the others went to sit at their respective tables, Nina drew herself over to the far wall.
She was not participating. She was a spectator.
One that had very high hopes for her Slytherin classmates. Nina crossed her arms as she waited for the event to begin, her gaze fixed on the still empty table of her own house. Surely her peers would file in soon. This would be utterly shameful otherwise. Again, not that she would ever say anything. As far as anyone else was concerned Nina's only competitive interest was Quidditch (read: she hated Quidditch). Woooooo! Go Józef!
