Nina did not want to sing and she certainly did not want to give away her necklace. Sorry. So instead of offering a song, she stood behind the crowd. In hopes to blend in. She didn’t particularly love the idea of befriending a mermaid, and was quite happy being far from the porthole. Honestly. If there was one thing she loved about this common room, it was how little the creatures swam up to the windows.
Truly, it was a blessing.
And so, instead of going up to take her turn, she stood back and watched as her classmates went up one by one and embarrassed themselves with silly performances. This was a classroom, not an after school musical. Nina intended to keep it that way for herself. Mhm.
