Activities were only useful in some instances, and unlike some of her other Professors, the Headmaster knew there was always a time when their lessons would be better suited for lectures. She liked him for that. As for the discussion at hand, it was incredibly intriguing. Intent was often tricky because one couldn’t exactly measure it. Vertasium helped in a way that muggles could not replicate, but motive was often times less black and white than one would hope for it to be. Even with the truth. Though maybe it wasn’t intent that made this so difficult, but instead how lines were drawn.

Which is why the next question posed to the class brought Nina even further into her thoughts. Unlike some of her classmates, Nina had a very clear idea of what was right and wrong. Her morals didn’t always align with those others held, but she had a standard. Rules were meant to be followed, that’s why they were in place. Though… some rules were ridiculous and that’s where Nina often found herself stuck. Because were ridiculous rules still meant to be followed? Yes. Rules were rules, were they not? However, when it was a matter of life or death, maybe this changed things. The Slytherin was sure that if the situation called for it, she would use self defense rather than die at the mercy of another’s wand. But hypotheticals were difficult to navigate. She wasn’t entirely sure what she would do in the scenario as there was something she clearly thought she would do, but whether or not that would be the reality… Questionable. Even she knew to admit this to herself.

And although she would have much rather sat down, written notes, and continued thinking for the entirety of the lesson, she wasn’t terribly upset at the announcement of the activity. It didn’t sound incredibly engaging, but surely there would be a purpose to it. She trusted Headmaster Trent. Perhaps because he was very pretty, but maybe for other reasons too.

She waited until the others walked up to get their parchment before making her way up to the front of the room herself and grabbing some parchment. With slight hesitance in her step, she made her way over to the photo station, waiting her turn before standing in front of the camera. If this were a mugshot, then they weren’t meant to smile, yes? So she stood and gave the camera a practiced pout before walking off to retrieve the shot.

There was a lot of looking here and looking there and wide eyes coming from Drewett. This class took a hundred eighty degree turn from simply giving out answers to the headmaster's question. Now, they were talking about how the situation had a lot of gray area, and there were people debating and drawing the line meant not being considerate of things and then rumours about the former head girl, Jessa Cambridge, being a dark witch.

But the rumour on Professor O'Hara being a part-goblin was taking away the price today. Drewett nearly gasped when he heard that one, and he even had to pause half-way through writing his notes to compose himself. He wasn't sure it was funny??? Or??? He was conflicted. His facial expressions showed his internal conflict. But also, if Professor O'Hara was truly part-goblin, that would make her and Eloise somehow of the same species since that redhead was a goblin too. A troll-goblin hybrid, to be exact. Interesting cross-species genetics, if you asked him. One worth studying.

Time for a...what? Mug shot? Drewett never thought of himself as mug shot-worthy, to be honest. He wasn't even criminal-worthy. Or whatever worthy. He didn't know what to do, but nevertheless he stood from his seat and stood at the end of the line for his turn. Standing behind Nina, he gently nudged her arm. "I-I'll do yours, you do mine," he offered. Drewett also would have loved to do Eloise's "wanted" poster but the Slytherin had already created her own. He'd have added a little something about her penchant for gossip. If rumours could kill, the dead would die twice because of Eloise. Grindelwald and Tom Riddle would be dethroned. Allison Hargreeves would choke. The Daily Prophet would shut down.

Okay, that was a little bit exaggerated but hey, he'd been a victim of Eloise's rumours. He wasn't even kidding.

When it was his turn for the mug shot, Drewett stood exactly on the middle of the X mark and looked up at the camera. He tried to keep a straight normal face, but he was too conscious and awkward that he was probably the perfect imitation of the eyes emoji.
