This girl... stared a lot. Did she realize? Piers was just trying to enjoy his bean toast in piece, but the eyes of a teenage girl were boring into his soul and it was making him mildly uncomfortable. But it was also amusing. He wondered how much THOUGHT the girl had going on in her head. He could practically hear her brain churning.
When she spoke, he listened, but made very little eye contact. He was very invested in this toast. And when she finally admitted the reason for her visit - the desire to change houses - Piers' expression remained pretty much the same as it had before. She wanted to leave Slytherin because her "goals" didn't line up with her housemates, which, to Piers, sounded like "I don't like my housemates".
Regardless, Piers listened, nodding to signify that he was indeed listening, let her words sink in for a moment, and took a few gulps of water before responding. "You know all the House stuff is a load of beetle dung, right?" He paused and gave her a look. "If you wanna be a Ravenclaw, just hang out with more Ravenclaws. Surround yourself with people who challenge and motivate you." Duh.
