Ellie at first felt like sitting out answering Professor Cornish last question since she was brand new to the school. She had avid read every page in her Hogwart’s a History book but knew that she had less knowledge of happenings and events than say student’s that we’re now in their seventh year. Ellie could only think of one event that might have disturbed an ecosystem but she didn’t know if it would suffice.
However as Maeve had told her the other day it was always better to say something than to remain silent. Raising her hand Ellie said tentatively with a sideways glance at Sammy. "I read in Hogwarts a History recently about a ghost pirate ship that appered on the lake. Couldn’t both the ship and it’s restless spirits have disturbed the lake’s ecosystem? I mean the fish, merpeople and other lake creatures must have felt the spirits as a threat and scared creatures could have attacked and killed each other. It’s also possible that the ship while it was there could have made the lake water sick and bad for the lake inhabitants to feed on and that could have upset the ecosystem if some plants died out."

Professor Cornish moved on the lesson offering them a variety of tasks to complete. Taking water samples sounded doable and making snail tanks sounded fun. She was not in the mood to pick up any trash or catch plimpies. She understood why it would help the lake’s ecosystem though. Grabbing a tank Ellie looked around for a partner. ”Does anyone want to help me make some snail tanks?”
