She looked up and saw a glimmer of the snitch just in time to see three people all fly at it at once. Nettie would have joined in but...let's be honest. FOUR people all going for it at once would have easily caused a collision. She preferred to stay ON her broom and NOT be concussed, thank you very much.
As she zoomed by, trying to lose the dummy, she resumed her search. As she passed Tad, she realized that there was something glittering near him, and then...it took off, conveniently in the same direction Nettie was heading to try and get rid of her dummy. What luck!
She zoomed after it, arm outstretched as she gained on it. Hopefully as she sped up to get away from the dummy, it would get her closer and closer and she'd be rewarded with a cool metal snitch in her palm. Quote:

He squinted before hearing the familiar fluttering.
That was it. The snitch. It was flying towards the end of the pitch and Tad wasted no time in zooming off after it. As soon as he flew in that direction he could hear another one fly behind him. Was it another dummy? He couldn't chance a glance because even during a blink the snitch could change direction and he wanted to be focused. As he approach the snitch his arm outreached. He briefly thought about how cool he would be to catch the snitch, but that went away. Thoughts of being cool didn't help, he focused on the wings, his other hand moved to hold the handle of his broom ready to make a quick steer if it zoomed off elsewhere. His hand kept outstretched though. It had to be his snitch. It had to be, he hoped while focusing as the distance grew smaller. Quote:

She flipped over once in the air, falling downward, before she was able to tighten her grip and regain her balance. Pushing her hair out of her face and staring back upward at where she had been, she saw that the other girl had caught the snitch. As soon as she had caught it, though, it had left her hands. This snitch wasn't wasting any time.
She stabilized her broom and squinted, hoping to see where the snitch flew off to. But she saw nothing. Suddenly, she noticed two other players racing toward the opposite end of the pitch, both of them with their arms outstretched. They must have spotted it! Avalon was hesitant about getting caught in another tumble, though. But this was Quidditch. She had to go after it.
Perhaps she could fly above the other two players and sneak in from above? No, that could be too dangerous. If one of them made a sudden jerk upward, there would undoubtedly be a collision. Avalon didn't want to be the cause of any broken bones at tryouts. But coming in from the side - that was definitely an option. That way, both of the players would be able to see her before any accidents.
Avalon took a deep breath before flying off in the direction of the snitch again. She kept a healthy distance away from the other two - flying parallel to the them - as she watched the snitch's movements carefully. It wasn't going anywhere, though. She had to get closer to it. She maneuvered herself to be in line with the other two seekers and stretched out her hand in pursuit of that little gold ball, stabilizing herself by leaning forward on her broom. She kept a close ear out for the approach of any potential dummies - the last thing she wanted was to be knocked out of the air again. Three Seekers and one Golden Snitch -- who was going to be the victor?
Having alluded the dummy that had been chasing after her for far too long, Trinetta had nothing to focus on besides capturing that Snitch... Thadius, however, was leading the chase... moments after, Avalon had joined the ranks... soon the three were all in pace with each other, flying as if they were on a synchronized broom team... until a rogue Bludger made its sudden appearance and started flying straight for them, clearly initiating a game of chicken... the Snitch darted to the side to avoid the oncoming black ball... the Snitch's movement gave Trinetta the advantage of grabbing hold of it... now the question was whether or not that Bludger would be avoided by all three Seekers...
After being caught, the Snitch was released and it once again darted off. This time, however, it wasn't clear where the golden ball had went. The oncoming Bludger and the sun shining just at the right angle made it seem like it had disappeared... OOC: The Snitch grab was determined by a number generator. 1 - Lissy Longbottom, 2 - Charely Potter, 3 - Fireheart; the number generated was 1. Quote:

OMG, she could dance around on her broom, but she didn't, she stayed cool and just gave a small cheer before letting the snitch go again. She wished so much her Uncle Alec could have seen her at that moment, he would have been so proud. Glancing around she noticed that one of the first years went into a fall and Chloe leaned her broom downward to race to help her if she needed. Yes, it was tryouts but that was no reason not to take care of each other. "You Okay?"
Once giving the first year a look over Chloe glanced at the Gryffindor to make sure she hadn't been injured either, but she looked good too.
Now it was time to focus again, so Chloe moved higher to get a better look at the pitch. She was ready to catch the snitch again, curiosity was getting the best of her so she glanced around to find Nettie and Tad, how were they doing?
They seemed to be doing well too, which meant that Chloe felt she needed to do better. Green eyes scanning the pitch she watched the dummies and looked for a snitch at the same time. No Snitch was in sight; however, two dummies and a Quaffle were now making their way down the pitch in Chloe's direction... the red ball was being passed at a rather quick speed, and the dummies were showing no signs of knowing that she was there scouting out the small golden ball... it was only a matter of a couple seconds before a collision was destined to occur... OOC: Tryouts will be coming to a close today at 11 PM EST (roughly 8.5ish hours from the time of this post). Get your posts in now while you still can! ^___^ |
