This was, by far, the weirdest set of instructions he had ever received. And he was in his third year at Hogwarts. That was saying a lot! It was safe to say that Lucas was confused, and it showed on his young face as he looked at the Professor and then around the room and then back again.
He wanted him to scream? And bounce around? In here?!
Was it a test? It had to be a test, right?
Still confused, he looked around the room again, whispering a very soft "Whaaaaat?" under his breath. There were alarms going off in his head, at this point. The Headmaster wanted him to go mad. In here. In front of EVERYONE. No no no. No, thank you! The only screaming he was going to do was the silent, internal kind.
When the lesson started, his eyes shifted back to the Headmaster, but there was no doubt that there were still alarms going off in his brain. Somewhere. In the back back back of his brain. What was the man talking about? Silence? Oh, that..... didn't sound too bad. Appreciating silence was more his thing. He was a quiet one in the family, after all.
What are things that can be accomplished silently? Lucas knew THIS. His hand shot up in the air as soon as the first answer came into his head. "It's calming! I mean, uh......." What did this have to do with Defence? "..... I guess....... it's better and easier to think things through when you're calm. If you're in danger, I mean. Otherwise you could make bad decisions and make things worse for yourself and it's...... not good," he finished off, lamely.
