Avalon relished the warmth of the Great Hall as the first years were led toward the dais. Luckily, her clothes had dried from the rain while they were waiting in the Entrance Hall, but she was still a bit chilly. She couldn't help but smile as the Sorting Hat burst into song. She had been waiting for this moment for so long -- she couldn't believe it was finally here. As the first students were called forward to be sorted, Avalon looked behind her at the four tables. Every house has something to offer. No matter where you end up, you'll be alright. She remembered the words that her dad had spoken to her before she boarded the train earlier that morning. Even so, Avalon couldn't help from shuffling her feet a bit and picking at a hangnail on her left hand. As much as she didn't want to admit it, she was slightly nervous about the sorting. She just wanted to make sure she ended up in the right place, no matter which house that might be.

"Avalon Sinclair!"

Her thoughts were interrupted as the Sorting Hat bellowed her name. She tried not to pay attention to the hundreds of eyes on her as the hat was lowered onto her head. "Ahh, another Sinclair! Although I haven't seen one of you in awhile," the hat said, referring to her father's lineage, which was primarily composed of Hogwarts students. "Your father was a Gryffindor, and I certainly see those qualities in you as well." The Sorting Hat paused for a moment, and Avalon's heartbeat quickened. What in the world was happening? "But I also see a lot of creativity. Intellection. Wittiness. Hmmmmmm. I believe you belong in RAVENCLAW!" She couldn't help but smile as the hat bellowed out the name of her house. That would do. Avalon bounded off the dais and headed toward the tables of blue -- her new home.
