As much as Kay enjoyed baking with Emmalyn, for the girl’s nineteenth birthday, she refused to do so with Emmalyn in her presence. It might be a small act or gesture but Kaysha knew it would be appreciated all the same.
Instead of a single cake, there were red velvet cupcakes cooling on the table. Each would be posted with a letter or punctuation that would spell out “HAPPY BIRTHDAY, EMMALYN!”
Kaysha could hardly wait to surprise Lyn with them. The three of them- Foster, Lyn and Kay were sure to the baked treats.
