Kaysha listened thoughtfully then began to scribble what Kaira disclosed that were missing. A minute later, she stuck the ink-free end of the almost absent mindedly against her lower lip. “Are we certain that these have not simply been misplaced? That the book has not been moved to another shelf? The brushes were borrowed or hidden by some mischievous student or Peeves?’’ Her questions were directed to Kaira as much as she was asking herself. “Do you know if anyone made any checks to see if the items could be traced?’’ After all, if someone simply borrowed them when they were not supposed to, then this would turn out to be nothing but a wild goose chase. SPOILER!!: Dorian! <3 Quote:

This impressed Dorian but it also made him feel a little miserable. Another person who had found their calling a long time ago..."You make it sound like the infiltration was a highly top secret military operation" he laughed at first but as he actually thought about it, it might have been...in some sense "Then again the enemy used to be a Head of the Aurors so i guess it was?" which meant that it was even more impressive that they had been able to deceive him.
After she assured him that his secret would stay safe between them, Dorian felt his shoulders relax and he nodded his head "Thanks, man that feels good to have that out of me" it had been troubling him all summer long.
He knew it was a long shot to ask her to sign his OWL papers right now but at least he had tried. The thought of having to spend countless of hours studying wasn't something he would dislike...maybe a litte bit...because he enjoyed learning and improving his skills. But the thought of others unintentionally or intentionally trying to intervene with his studies...that was whats giving him a headache. "Say, do i have permission to use the bat bogey hex on anyone who disturbs me while im trying to study for my exams?" he asked with a little grin. "Excluding the Professors of course" he added.
'Have you decided what you want to get in to?' The question made him look down at the desk in front of him and he sighed heavily. Then he looked up at the ceiling and scratched the top of his head. "I...can't say i have" he answered and looked back down again to eye level. "I don't have a particular skill. My grades are average and my interests changes constantly" he shifted himself higher up on the chair for he had realised he had slouched down. "I just can't find anything i really enjoy doing more than a month and im starting to get worried because its my OWL year already and i have to chose a direction soon" forget the exams, this was far more frightening. Maybe he should just make a roulette and choose the job that the arrow lands on?
Kay laughed both in amusement and at the brilliance of Dorian’s comparison. “You know, I had not thought of that as a comparison but yes, it did take brainstorming for us, the fired professors, to be able to put in a fool-proof plan.’’ In the end, it had worked out quite well and they had been able to take Back Hogwarts. “Whatever you say to me will stay between us unless you say otherwise. This applies for now and for any other future conversations.’’ Unless, of course, the situation was so dire that she would need to confide in a colleague. “Now, now, Mr. Katharos. I didn’t think you’d be the ‘violent’ kind.’’ Kay made the quotation signs with her index and middle fingers of both hands when she said ‘violent’. This was because she knew that Dorian was that way, even in the slightest. “To answer your question, you may not. I trust that you will find another way to deal with any such issues. You’re a very capable student.’’ This was definitely true; Kay saw it in the way the Ravenclaw conducted himself.
Dorian’s reaction was watched with interest and even before he spoke up again, Kaysha knew that he was undecisive. “I know it seems like a lot of pressure and it’s quite fine not to be ready. The main advantage is that you have a variety of Wizarding Universities to choose from to further your studies later on. My suggestion is that you sit the exams for the important subjects- Defense, Transfiguration etcetera. That way, when you do decide on what you would like to do, you’ll be able to apply for University. The same would apply if you want to dive right into working after Hogwarts.’’ |
