Rachel ducked under a nearby table as the spell darted her way. It was her hope that the table would offer protection with its umbriferous texture. “It’s just a play,’’ she reminded herself. “It’s not like you’re really going to have your memories intruded upon.’’ This was true but the play’s script did require her to hide under the table. It was only for a moment she had believed that her memories would be troubled with.
Rachel peeked out from under her hiding spot. Her drama club partner was shaking his head. “You got terrified again that the spell was real, didn’t you?’’ he said mockingly.
