~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ It be like that sometimes. A small gaggle of Ravenclaws like Hanna had followed her but she was relieved to see that many others were arriving. No doubt they had heard the announcement. Kay managed a small smile as some stopped to stand close by her or greeted her: Kaira, Dorian, Alice, Rylee, Kassandra, Stella, Joshua. “The Headmaster hasn’t briefed us as yet’’ was the reply each time someone asked what the issue was.
Blue eyes found Mark. “Mr. Gunter,’’ she began in astonishment. “What are you doing? Please stop chewing on the Head Boy’s robes at once.’’ It was all said calmly but there was a strong hint of sternness in her voice. Just as surprising was one of the House Elves turning up and demanding his fluffsies. Kaysha could do nothing but stare as she had not an inkling of what a ‘fuffsy’ was.
The woman had no time to be further puzzled or distracted, however. Trent was giving them instructions. Head count? She shot him a sharp look but did as was instructed. It was a great thing that this term she had spent a lot of her time in the Ravenclaw common room (and even out of the Room) getting to know her Ravenclaws. “All accounted for,’’ Kaysha confirmed, a worried gaze shifting back to Trent. Someone was missing. Why else had the Heads been asked to check on the kiddos? His other words were taken into consideration and Kay slowly started to piece things together. Was Trent getting at... was he saying that thing consumed someone? Cue her heart starting to race. Dolly?
A headache was starting to creep up on Kay as she tried to come to grips with all the revelations but naturally, she had to keep it together for the kiddos. Then there was Alice. Did Kay approve of her words at the moment? No, but Tristan was handling that. Focus on Trent again was interrupted by that familiar voice. She whipped around in the direction of the voice to do some more staring. Dolly was a ghost.
Kay was lost in shock for a moment that she missed Toddles throwing himself at Alice. |
