Simon took note that the spinning had stopped but didn’t have time to dwell as the next person to join them had entered the conference room. And the next. And the next. A mixture of old hats and new faces though the security head though they all still looked young to him. Sometimes he thought he’d never get used to being the department member that had already been there when everyone else was joining. That the experienced members that had been his mentors were all gone off to different pursuits.
Nevertheless, he greeted those who spoke up their own greeting as they entered, finding himself with the citrusy Rider sitting right beside him. Good thing he wasn’t allergic. Would have made things awkward for him as Alexa started the meeting. Simon knew of the openings, head auror as obvious as the department head had said, and the other woman’s decision to step down as trainer. He just hoped those who chose to help cover Muriel’s desk didn’t make his job any harder.
As for status reports, he at least had an answer for once, seeing as the other three topics really didn’t involve him. “Well the situation down in Mysteries seems to have been resolved,” he remarked, remembering what had ended the year. The affected back to normal and all that. “Though I will be making sure patrols on Level 9 are a bit more…special…to make sure nothing else happens especially that we aren’t aware of until its too late.” Probably personally as he tended to have the best repor with Level 9.
