Sarah thinks I'm cute | Shan's safe space. Dalton toyed with the cuff of his robes as he made his way to what he hoped was the right floor. He was very conscious of everyone he walked passed, aware of the way they were dressed and the confidence with which they carried themselves - something he'd given up trying to mimic back when he started university. Although he wanted to make a good impression on his first day, particularly on his boss and immediate colleagues, the former Slytherin had kind of accepted that he might not, and that was sort of okay.
"M-Morning." He grimaced before the word was even out of his mouth. Not even a sentence and he'd stumbled, not even a greeting before he'd embarrassed himself. And he tried to cover that with a cough, probably unsuccessfully.
Did he need to introduce himself? Dalton was helping himself to coffee when the thought struck. Surely not. Surely she knew who he was, after interviews and everything. But maybe she'd hired loads of people? Or maybe she was forgetful? This was far more difficult than it should have been. "Thanks... For all of this," he did manage, gesturing at the food as he sat down with his coffee and a bagel.
