SPOILER!!: Question 2 – CORRECT answers

Hmm, didn't this all seem a little...hypocritical? The professors had used polyjuice potion last year, which Nettie had come to learn was a lot more complicated than it seemed initially. Perhaps this was their way of explaining themselves?

She read over the options a few times before tapping her answer - the consent one. That was the most important thing, and all the other answers just...didn't seem right.

With wand still in hand, Hanna read over the second question. Well clearly the first one was incorrect. The third one was also clearly incorrect. The fourth didn't seem true, although certainly it seemed a thing that would be banned at Hogwarts. And the final one, there was something about it that might have seemed true but probably wasn't. Hanna tapped the parchment with her wand, over the second answer - after obtaining informed consent from the person I want to change into.

This one about the use of polyjuice. Thinking of the many Maxes earlier this term, Archer considered the choices. Technically, there were two correct anwsers in this case. Buuuut, the one Noble was probably looking for was....after obtaining informed consent from the person I want to change into. So, that's the one she tapped, returning to using the wall/door as a backscratcher after making her selection.

Why was she so itchy?

......Zoryn....he was on the same quiz level as Zoryn Spinnet... His head hurt.

Rubbing his forehead as he turned back around, Dorian read the parchment again when he felt something fall on top of his head. Glancing up at the ceiling, the fifth year felt a drizzle of water falling on his face. Running a hand through his hair as the water got stronger, he quickly lifted up his wand and tapped the After obtaining consent option because that one seemed like another good answer.

For the record, this was dumb.

If it wasn't banned at Hogwarts THEN WHY DID SHE GET INTO SO MUCH TROUBLE??????? Clearly something was going on here. Because none of the answers sounded right.

Letting out a groan in frustration, the Gryffindor picked the answer that sounded like Derf. After obtaining informed consent from the person I want to change into. Blah. Blah. Blah. He was all high and holy so this must've been the right choice.

But what was the point of polyjuice if the person KNEW you were turning into them? That defeated THE WHOLE POINT. Of course Professor Noble was going to take the fun out of potions. She should've known. He was a fun sucker.

The door opened, letting Nettie, Daisy, Hannah, Sterling and Vivienne through into a second small room. And although they were now slightly damp, Dorian and Zoryn soon followed. Next to a wooden door, a third question awaited them:

SPOILER!!: Parchment: third door

Tap the correct answer.

3. Which of the following scenarios shows informed consent?
  • Asking a friend if they would like to try your potion whilst they’re still half asleep
  • Making sure your friend fully understands what the potion is and does, including any risks, before putting in their drink
  • Checking whether your friend is allergic to the potion before giving it to them
  • Getting your friend to say “yes” before giving it to them
  • None of the above

SPOILER!!: Cordelia and Indigo

No more!” The young girl screamed at the door in anguish. She was trapped. No way out. There was just an endless maze of doors, doors, doors with questions of ever increasing difficulty. One had been annoying, two was two too many, and three, well three was more than enough. She couldn’t do it anymore, she just couldn’t. She wanted out. Out of here, away from these never-ending doors that were toying with her mind. ”This isn’t real, this isn’t real,” Cordelia whispered to herself as she rocked back and forth. Any moment now she would be delivered from these hallucinations of being trapped in a loop of doors with no escape.

There would surely be an actual class, wouldn't there?

He was prepared to read and answer the next question when he noticed a young girl sit on the floor with her arms around her knees. He glanced at the other older students. Surely someone else would be better prepared to handle the situation. Like Derf? He was Head Boy, wasn't he? But Indigo was all too familiar with panic attacks, and something inside him wouldn't let him ignore the girl. So he crouched, and softly touched her arm. "Are you okay?" He asked softly.

An endless maze? Professor Noble wasn’t that mean. And for better or for worse, he hardly considered her trapped. Five questions, was all he’d laid out. Plus, nothing had been said about them not being able to confer…only that they had to tap the parchment one at a time. The first-year needed to learn to ask for help if she needed it, not just throw a temper tantrum. So for the moment, he let Cordelia and Indigo be. A clear mind could yet prevail.

SPOILER!!: Abra

He did wait a while too, until his impatience won out and he screwed up his face and regarded the parchment again, with one eye shut, as that sort of stopped the words from moving about so much.

Maybe he should just choose an answer, but the situation hadn't changed; none of the options really felt right to him. For a while, Abra stood there, hovering his wand over the parchment in great indecision, before lowering it again. Nope. He was STICKING TO HIS ANSWER.

New idea!

He knocked on the door instead. And sort of shuffled closer, and tried calling through it. "Sir? I, uh... think none of these." He paused, for just a second, then went on. "Polyjuice is, uh, against school rules, right? Which means... it's not appropriate to use it whenever you want to while here, even with informed consent from someone, even if you tell the Ministry..." Man, he felt pretty ridiculous just kind of talking to a door and hoping for the best... "But I also don't think it's appropriate to use it any time or place that's not here..."

Another pause. Maybe no answer was the wrong answer. Maybe he ought to just pick an option that sounded like something Noble would say, to avoid getting stuck here all lesson...

There was a slight delay after Abra’s verbal answer, but with his ear so close to the door, the turning of the lock must have been audible. His answer had been accepted, and he was now free to move on.

As for the next question, Chloe pondered the different answers on the parchment. They all sort of overlapped, but only one of them covered everything. Making sure your friend fully understands what the potion is and does, including any risks, before putting in their drink. It was important that whoever took the potion knew what was going to happen.

Chloe was right, the answers did all sort of overlap…but apparently she hadn’t chosen the correct one, as when she went to open the door, it remained shut. And to make matters worse, the skin was tautening on her wand hand and breaking out into…boils? Best re-read the details in the answers carefully and try again, before the boils can spread any further.
