| Lovely™ | Captain Hurted | Ariana's Bane | Resident Antagonist | Unparalleled Delight Was it just Abra's imagination, or was his finger starting to feel a little tingly, in a mildly unpleasant, burning sort of way. Mildly alarmed, he wiped off as much of the "Essence of Dittany" onto his robes, just in case it was that that was doing it, but the tingling only continued. Maybe he should have worn his dragonhide gloves. And as for the dummy. Well.
Was it supposed to be... um... sizzling?
And... smoking... oh... oh no... "S-sorry!" Abra said to the dummy, completely needlessly of course. But he couldn't help but feel bad that he'd applied a potion that was apparently eating away at the wound rather than, you know, helping fix it, even if it was on something that couldn't feel it.
Thank Merlin they weren't practicing on real people though, right?
Abra wasn't entirely sure what to do about this sizzling and smoking problem. He tried Aguamenti to wash off the dittany, as he didn't want to touch it again with his own hand, but all that did was make the dummy all wet, effectively adding insult to injury. He tried placing a few leaves over the smoking wound to see if that made any difference or helped to heal it, but mostly, Abra was writing off this entire thing as a disaster. He added a few leaves to some of the other cuts on the dummy - which, mercifully, did their job - then gave up.
For a few moments, Abra abandoned the dummy to go back to his schoolbag and dig through the mess in there to find his trusty Spell Check Quill, before returning to the now smouldering dummy to write his notes. He squinted at each question in turn, re-reading them all at least three times to make sure he understood correctly, not wanting to make a mess of yet another thing in this lesson. Quote:

The leaves healed them. The potion made them worse. Question 2: Did you have any issues with administering the dittany to the cuts and wounds?
Yes Question 3: Do you thinking swallowing dittany leaves raw would have had a stronger effect on the healing of the wounds and cuts?
Better than my potion, yes.
