Anna's shrill laughter is what set Zoryn over the edge. MERLIN!! SHUT UP, ANNA!!!! Zoryn would’ve whipped her wand out and cast a silencing charm on the girl if it weren’t for the fact that she was so preoccupied with trying to get this blasted painting off the wall, an endeavor which Abra had given up on.
FINE. She’d do it herself.
She yanked with FOUR TIMES the force and pulled with ALL her body weight, only stopping to GLARE at Anna. If looks could kill, Anna would’ve been long gone. Turning her attention back to the task at— UUFFFFFFFTTTTT !!!! ANNA MERIWETHER WAS ASKING FOR IT! Letting go of the portrait, the Gryffindor whipped out her wand and… Fortunately did not get much further.
Because, yes, Abra was right. If Zoryn had been given even ten more seconds, she would’ve definitely done something that everyone would regret. But fortunately for the lot of them, two things happened to prevent the third biggest disaster of term 51.
1. A first year.
Zoryn was about to unleash her fury on the child (who did nothing wrong, aside from simply annoying Zoryn with her sudden presence), but then she said what now? Cool? COOL!?!?!
She could work with cool. Straightening her back, the Gryffindor GLARED at Anna once more before turning back to Abra and the smol child. “It’s fan art,” she wasn’t bragging. (She was bragging.) “Most people aren’t popular enough to have paintings made of them.”
Because listen, here’s the thing. A part of her loved this. Loved the attention. Loved the fact that everyone was still talking about her. Loved the fact that she was the center of attention in this given situation. Loved the fact that people envied her so much that they went out of their way to paint a portrait of her. Bad press was still press. And despite the fact that her scream had been a genuine reaction in horror, anger, and absolute embarrassment—really, she liked that attention too. All it took was a first year, apparently.

2. The Headmaster.
“What Abra said,” she confirmed. Had he just come back from a jog this early in the morning? Good on him, keeping in shape and all that. He was old, old people needed to exercise more, otherwise they’d all end up looking like Professor Dopple.
But yes, anyways. What Abra said with the addition that Anna was being obnoxious and annoying, but what else was new? “But… I don’t think I hate it that much anymore, sir. So it can stay.” Because obviously she got to call the shots on this sort of thing. Y’know, authority and all that jazz.
Yes, you read that absolutely right. Zoryn's demeanor did an absolute 180 in the matter of a few short minutes. Just another day in the life of a real-life drama queen. She'd be here all week.
