The Wizengamot is wizarding Britain's judicial and legislative authority and serves both as high court of law and parliament. A branch of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, there are fifty members in the Wizengamot at any one time, made up of important personages of Wizarding society. They are only summoned to the ministry when required and in most cases, only a selection of the fifty will be called upon at any one time. The Wizengamot wear plum coloured robes embroidered with a silver letter W when court is in session. Aside from the Wizengamot itself, the division contains the Wizengamot Administration Services office and the British Office of Wizarding Law. The Wizengamot Administration Services office employs a court scribe to sit in on Wizengamot sessions, manage the Wizengamot roster, and work with all departments across the ministry, via the Department of Magical Law Enforcement in regards to setting court dates and hearings for offenders. They also help source mediators, lawyers and advisors as required by the wizarding public. The British Office of Wizarding Law provide courtroom prosecutors, mediators, documentation experts, and legislators as required by the ministry. Requirements and Role Description:
The Wizengamot Comissioner oversees both the Wizengamot Administration Services Office and the British Office of Magical Law. Representing the Ministry of Magic, this role is Ministry based and requires a close working relationship with the Ministers Office and the Department of International Cooperation, as well as within the Department of Magical Law Enforcement itself. The successful applicant will be responsible for appointing esteemed members of the Wizarding Public to sit on the Wizengamot itself, provide support to the Ministry Prosecution and ensure all Wizengamot trials are fair and impartial. The Wizengamot Comissioner will liaise with the Wizengamot Chief Warlock and the Magical Law Enforcement Department Head as required. Requirements and Role Description:
The successful applicant will aid the Wizengamot Comissioner in selecting esteemed members of the Wizarding Public to sit on the Wizengamot itself, as well as oversee all adminstrative tasks required by the Wizengamot. The Coordinator will assign a court scribe for each hearing and arrange for all recorded information to be archived efficiently. The Coordinator oversees the Wizengamot Administration Services office and answers to the Wizengamot Commissioner and the Department Head of Magical Law Enforcement. Requirements and Role Description:
The successful applicant will assist in all adminstrative tasks as required by the Wizengamot. The Administrative Assistant works at the direction of the Administrative Coordinator. This is a varied role and office based. This role requires people skills, clerical skills, and organisation skills. 5 OWLs are required in any subject. Further training in Magical and Muggle Prosecution Law at a University level is beneficial but not required as this is an administrative assistant role. A working understanding of Magical Law and Regulations is beneficial. This role is an entry level position, but pay will be adjusted based on experience. Requirements and Role Description:
The Wizarding Director of Prosecution is a dual role, both overseeing the British Ministry legal team and liaising with outside legal representation where necessary.Representing the Ministry of Magic, this role is Ministry based and requires a close working relationship with the Ministers Office and the Department of International Cooperation, as well as within the Department of Magical Law Enforcement itself. The successful applicant will run prosecution on high profile cases, provide support to the Wizengamot Commissioner, the Wizengamot Chief Warlock and the Magical Law Enforcement Department Head as required. The successful applicant must be an intelligent, articulate and persuasive leader, with a thorough understanding of the Magical legal system.This role requires people skills and leadership experience, with a particular emphasis on mentoring others within the field. 7 NEWTs are required in any subject at an E grade or higher. At least six years experience in Law is required. Ministry Prosecutor - [3] WANTED
Requirements and Role Description:
A Ministry Prosecutor is a core member of the British Ministry legal team. Representing the Ministry of Magic in a court of law, this role is Ministry based and requires a close working relationship with the Ministers Office and the Department of International Cooperation, as well as within the Department of Magical Law Enforcement itself. The successful applicant will run prosecution on criminal cases as required and work at the direction of the Wizarding Director of Public Prosecution, Wizengamot Commissioner and Dept. Head of Magical Law Enforcement as indicated. The successful applicant must hold a good understanding of the Magical legal system and a thorough understanding of Magical Law and Regulations. This role requires people skills and courtroom experience,with a particular emphasis on developing skills in representing the interests of the Ministry and prosecuting those who have broken the laws governing the Wizarding World. 7 NEWTs are required in any subject at an E grade or higher. Further training in Magical and Muggle Prosecution Law at a University level is necessary.Pay scale is adjusted based on experience. Ministry Jurisprudent - [1] WANTED
Requirements and Role Description:
A Ministry Jurisprudent is a core member of the British Ministry legal team and advises on magical legal matters for individuals and/or the Ministry when new laws are being passed. Research may be required to gain an understanding of the far reaching effects of new laws and legislation and the Jurisprudent is to advise the relevant parties of these matters. This role is Ministry based and requires a close working relationship with all Ministry Departments. The successful applicant will work at the direction of the Wizarding Director of Public Prosecution, Wizengamot Commissioner and Dept. Head of Magical Law Enforcement as indicated. The successful applicant must hold a good understanding of the Magical legal system and a thorough understanding of Magical Law and Regulations. This role requires people skills and confidence in the philosophy and science of law. Experience in an advisory capacity, with a focus on lawmaking and political and public legal matters is beneficial to this role, but applied skills may be developed on the job. 5 NEWTs are required in any subject at an E grade or higher. Further training in Magical and Muggle Law at a University level is beneficial, as well as an interest in politics. Pay scale is adjusted based on experience. Ministry Legislator - [1] WANTED
Requirements and Role Description:
A Ministry Legislator works directly with the Minister of Magic and the Wizengamot in regards to drafting, presenting and passing new laws and legislation. The Ministry Legislator may be required to review old laws and suggest amendments as indicated by the Wizengamot and the Minister of Magic. It will often be necessary to work closely with others in the division, particularly the Ministry Jurisprudent and Scrivener. The successful applicant will work at the direction of the Wizarding Director of Public Prosecution, Wizengamot Commissioner and Dept. Head of Magical Law Enforcement as indicated. The successful applicant must hold a good understanding of the Magical legal system, a thorough understanding of Magical Law and Regulations, and a working knowledge of historical law and legislation. This role requires people skills and is best suited to a political minded individual.
