Jackson nodded encouragingly, watching as the rain started to fall on him. Jackson didn’t use a lot of product in his hair so he didn’t mind the drizzle. “Nice, mate! Good start good start.” And now it was his own turn.

Jackson had heard his fellow Prefect’s preference, and decided to have a little bit of fun. Because why not?! “Snow you said, right? You got it bud, it’s gonna be a bloody blizzard in here.” And with a wink, he looked at the spot his cloud would soon occupy and began to concentrate. “Nubecula!” he cast, quite more confident than earlier. The wisps flew out the end of his wand and whirled their way together to make a pretty decent cloud, if he did say so himself. He went over the newer spell in his head a couple of times before saying it aloud. “Tempestas Horribilis!”

It was rain he had been after. And rain he received. He watched as rain poured out of the cloud and he had to laugh a bit. “Well, with your charm choice, I thought I’d be nice… Here, wanna try snow or hail on me? Let me just…” Jackson brought his wand back up. “Protego!” and held it, so he didn’t get pelted to death by hail or something. “No sharp icicles please…” Heh heh… but really though.
Snow.... oh. Well. Um. Ah. O...okay. Snow. Great. Brilliant. Wonderful.

Not knowing if Jackson had misheard him or had heard him fine and was deciding to be tricksy OR if he was just having a little fun with him, Abra gave a small, slightly strained smile and brACED HIMSELF for this potential snowfall he was going to receive. At least he was waterproof and his clothes were lined with warming charms, right?

Abra waited, braced, wand raised ready to shield himself from the whatever-it-was that was soon to be falling on him. Sure, he could have put up a shield charm earlier, but he sort of wanted to test his reflexes with the shield charm, give himself a challenge, you know?

And there it was! Abra raised his wand, all set to cast his spell, but the rain hit him first, and he was so relieved that it was rain and not snow, that he took even longer to eventually throw up a shield charm with, "Protego!"

Luckily, his waterproof charms had indeed held, but Abra was a little displeased to discover he'd not quite fully charmed his back, and now the back of his robes were wet and there was rainwater going down the back of his neck and making him shiver, but he grinned at Jackson all the same, grateful for not having to face the promised blizzard. "Thanks!" he all but chirped, but trying to do so quietly because he was still aware that Professor Darlington had asked them to duel with the weather and might not take kindly to doing favours for each other. "Right, got it... uhhhh... let's see."

Cancelling his shield charm, Abra pointed his wand back up at his cloud again. It still looked substantial enough to provide more weather, so he didn't bother casting Nubecula again. "Tempestas Horribilis!" He kind of wanted to do rain again, to see if he could make it a little bit more of a downpour this time, and because he felt bad conjuring up snow or ice, but as Jackson himself had suggested it, he focused his mind as hard as he could on snowy conditions not unlike what he'd seen on the Hogwarts grounds for the past six winters. From his cloud and towards Jackson and his shield charm this time came a flurry of snow, more substantial than the drizzle he'd managed earlier, falling until the cloud itself had completely disappeared.
