Requirements and Role Description:
The Department Head of Magical Law Enforcement is tasked with the day to day running of level 2 and must be familiar with all aspects of the divisions which the position oversees. Extensive knowledge of magical law, defensive magic, magical history--among other things--are necessary, and leadership skills are a must. The Department Head will liaise with the Minister of Magic but is required to make decisions which affect Wizarding Britain independently, and take responsibility for all particulars which fall under the jurisdiction of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. The Department Head must sit on the Wizengamot and other interdepartmental committees and boards from time to time as a consultant. ABOUT The only child of two alleged purebloods, Jake was born on 31st August 2056; he and his mother were abandoned by his father three months later. Despite his wizarding heritage, Jake was raised as a muggle by his single mother, who struggled to cope, but attended Hogwarts from the age of eleven. Before he turned twelve, tensions at home reached breaking point, and Jake's mother unceremoniously washed her hands of him.
After the rollercoaster ride that was life between the ages of eleven and seventeen, Jake struggled to settle both in life and in a career. He passed through several jobs, attended university (twice), and drifted romantically as well as geographically. At the age of 30, after discovering his girlfriend Becca was pregnant with twins, he returned to his job as a Hit Wizard, and had stayed with the Ministry ever since.
In the years since re-joining the Ministry, Jake married Becca, had and adopted several more children with her, discovered the existence of a son from a previous relationship, gained two grandchildren, and refreshed his training in order take on a different Magical Law Enforcement position. He worked as an Auror from June 2100 to June 2104, at which point he was promoted to Department Head following the Third Wizarding War.

It is the Personal Assistants duty to answer directly to the MLE Department Head and follow all direct instructions. The successful applicant will have undergone Ministry approved security training and should have interests in avenues of Law Enforcement. People skills are a must as this role will require interaction with many employees and officials across the Ministry. A working knowledge of pertinent law and of the magical law enforcement community is desired but not essential. Job Description:
Aurors are an elite magical law enforcement unit tasked with protecting the Wizarding World from dark wizards and witches. They specialise in the identification and defence against dark magic and are taught to use any means necessary to take down a dark wizard. They are licensed to use even unforgivable curses if a situation calls for it.. It takes three years of training in order to become an Auror and this is usually done at a specialised training institution, of which there are several in the Wizarding World. MLE employees in other divisions may undertake training if they wish to become an auror at the discretion of the Department Head. Some of the required subjects include Stealth and Tracking, Advanced Magical Combat and Concealment and Disguise.
The Internal Investigations Liaison will work with investigate Ministry employees across all departments as directed. The Internal Investigations Liaison is required to undertake background checks on new Ministry Employees, investigate suspected theft or misappropriation of ministry funds or property, be well versed in loss prevention, fraud prevention, and protect the privacy of the Ministry of Magic employees. In the event of major security breaches of information and internal communications, the Liaison may be required to undertake investigations on teams or individuals involved. The Internal Investigations Liaison may be required to fulfil general security roles when necessary, as directed by the Head of Security or MLE Department Head.
Personality:
While as loyal as the Hufflepuffs that fill the rest of his family tree, Simon does have a brave and wild streak. He’s a mixture of the academic and physical striving to keep a balance and make his own way in the world. Commonly linked with his fellow Gryffindors as brash, especially by others in the department, Simon does hold a maturity and reserve that his compatriots from Sabel to Josh don’t always show.
