Well, he was determined to make the most of it before his year long detentions, or whatever the punishment was going to be. Maybe Professor Trent was a 'taste of your own medicine' kind of guy and there would be loads of Józef Kowalski's around the Castle next?! That would be the exact opposite of a punishment, though, and Józef!Max had to force himself not to laugh at the idea.
Not laughing was actually pretty easy, though, considering his awful case of the hiccups - the noises were punctuating every thought he had, and a particularly loud one meant he almost missed whatever this Max was saying.
Whichever Max it was.
Jó thought that it probably wasn't the real Max, that the real Max wouldn't seek out a fake Max to work with, but WHO REALLY KNEW? He raised a Max-hand to touch his Max-hair and then nodded slowly, wondering if this was in character enough. "Yeah... uh, okay," he said, turning his chair to face the Max that had approached.
"Do you wanna scare me? Or we could, uh..." he looked back to the board, and the list of supposed hiccuping cures, and he could not stop his eyes from lighting up in a probably un-Max-like way.
"Let's do the leapfrog one." Should she ask which Max he was? Did that defeat the purpose?
Tessa decided to leave it a mystery. She was at least sure that it wasn't the real Max. "Uh....okay." She tried to mimic his word choices. Was it weird to think 'he'.....what if it was Zoryn or Faith? Hmm. Never mind. They were both Max right now and that was what mattered.
She briefly wondered whether doing the leapfrog one would get them in more trouble for, like, embarrassing Max or something buuuuuuut it was Professor Dopple's request, so......
