The headmaster was here. Faith had stupidly thought that the fact that she didn't take Defense Against the Dark Arts at NEWT level would mean that she wouldn't need to deal with headmasters but that didn't seem at all to be the case. And she was really not a fan of this situation. Or of Derf, right now. In fact, now that she thought about it, she hadn't been a fan of Derf ever since he got his prefect's badge.
Which probably had less to do with his badge (because she was friends with lots of people with badges! Like Max, who she was now pretending to be) and more to do with the fact that every time fun was had, he did something like this. Tattled.
You know what's more annoying than a hiccup? A tattletale.
She stared blankly at the door, and then back down at her name plate, and then almost sighed. No, Max Carden wouldn't sigh. But what would he do? Well, for the moment, Faith looked confused -- which was a very Max Carden look, so they were probably good to go for the next few minutes or so.
Faith turned to look at the Max Carden next to her, already shrinking in his seat. "What are you doing?" she whispered, eyes wide. Wasn't the plan to run to the bathroom? Or was it too late for that? She wasn't going to run if nobody else was running.
Maybe if they all stunned the headmaster they'd be able to get away!
For now, though, should she slide under the table like the Max next to her? Or would that give her away? AND WHAT WAS THIS CHILD NEXT TO HER DOING TALKING ABOUT CONSPIRACIES? Did she not comprehend the idea of fun? Nobody was getting hurt -- the potion would only last an hour. What could possibly go wrong?
Also, was anyone else sweating or was she just nervous?
