Tina wasn't sure what to make of Professor Dopple, to be honest. She seemed nice enough, but for all she knew that niceness could be just an act… which wouldn't surprise her at all. Nobody was that unnaturally happy all the time! She listened to the professor, and… blink, blink. Did she just say let her know if they got too cold? No danger of that happening! Was Dopple really senile enough to confuse hot with cold or did Hogwarts have some dumb opposite day tradition nobody bothered to inform Tina about? Or… what if all that sweetness was hiding something evil and she was actually trying to make everyone as uncomfortable as possible? Given the stories Tina had heard about Hogwarts, *she wouldn't put it past her!
Tina was going to go with senile, based on Dopple's un-reaction to the attack of the clones happening right in front of her. How exactly did she get hired? Was she the headmaster's great-great grandmother or something? Or did the climate at Hogwarts scare off all the qualified charms experts? So, Hogwarts, not only did you break the last charms professor but you replaced him with a doddering old bat? she thought bitterly. Congratulations, you have invented a new kind of stupid…
Tina tried to refocus her attention on the lesson. So, still no explanation for the dead kneazle then…. it seemed safe to assume it wasn't a lesson aid at this point, unless… Did kneazles annoy Professor Dopple too? Was that what happened to it? Were they going to be learning some charm to get rid of pesky kneazles? Tina's mind was buzzing with so many questions, but for now she'd keep them to herself.
Speaking of questions, Tina still needed to answer the professor's! Let's see, something that annoyed her… she could think of about ten things off the top of her head, some of which were happening in this room right now, but there wasn't a charm to fix them. That, and she worried voicing her thoughts out loud would land her in hot water… though given the current climate, probably not. She'd overheard a lot of snarky answers from her classmates, some of which were pretty funny! Caolan and Ewan’s answers even got a small laugh from Tina - that she stifled by pretending to cough.
Other answers Tina thought were uncalled for, like the one that Slytherin girl (Skyler) gave, but that Gryffindor (Anna) already told her off for it so Tina didn't think it bore repeating. For her own answer, she decided to keep things simple and snark-free (for now). Her hand went up and after being called on, she said, “Professor, I can't stand breaking things, but when that happens, the mending charm, Reparo, comes in handy.”
Tina slumped back in her chair, dark eyes darting around the room at all the chaos. All the clones, senile professor, students sniping at the teacher and each other, that Hufflepuff guy (Derf) leaving and coming back, and now the headmaster was here! Merlin, how could things derail any further? Could they please just have a normal class where nothing goes wrong? This was all too much upheaval for her to process in one setting!
