Had Toddles just stomped away?! UH.
Lucas felt awkward. Very awkward. He didn't know why but he felt an uncomfortable feeling settle down in the pit of his stomach and it had everything to do with...... the house elf. Not that the house elf had DONE anything but the reaction...... well, it didn't sit well with him. Not at all.
It was probably because of this that he was silently relieved when the new Headmaster stood up to make an announcement. Green eyes focused on him, even if his brain was..... well, all over the place. He didn't really know how to feel about the new Headmaster. See, he SEEMED okay enough but that's what he thought about the previous Headmaster as well and look what happened there.
What was worse was that there was a bunch of other new Professors as well, which made this second year frown slightly. It meant a bunch of new faces to get used to and listen to and hope weren't going to make him do pushups during the-
..........
UH. Did he just mention being carried away and wishing you were EATEN, instead?!
Lucas gulped. Not going in there. Nope nope nope nope nope. Don't need to tell HIM twice. He hardly paid attention to anything else the new Headmaster was going on about - classes, catching up, FRIENDS - because now, he was just thinking about the forbidden forest and why it was in a school in the first-
Oh, would you look at that? The food is here!
A smile suddenly appeared on his face, especially when he saw all that chicken. He piled his plate up with plenty of those drumsticks, and some, uh, vegetables because his mama and...... oh! Pumpkin juice! Needed some of that as well. He poured himself a healthy portion of that too and started taking a few sips, you know, to get himself ready for the foo..... oo......
..........
.......... oh.
Something felt..... weird. Odd. This pumpkin juice was really nice, wasn't it? Better than nice. It was a lot tastier than normal and maybe that's why..... that's why....... he wasn't hungry anymore??? Yeah. But he didn't understand. Lucas looked down at the drumsticks that he'd piled onto his plate that looked so delicious but he...... didn't want to eat them? Not anymore.
Confused, he looked up at the person sitting closest to him to say this to - because he could tell them about, uh, this - when-
...........
Oh. Oh.
His eyes widened again and he could hear his heartbeat racing a million miles a minute but, for once, it wasn't because he was nervous. Well, he might've been nervous, he still felt something weird in his tummy, but this felt different. A lot different. And he had eyes for one person and one person only.
Before he could stop himself, he reached up a hand and gently touched Józef's hair. Those soft, silky locks. The way his eyes shone when he was talking about Quidditch. That soft, dreamy face. He was....... perfect. "Hi," he sighed dreamily.
Notice us, senpai.
