Eventually, Harri made her way to the Gryffindor table with small hesitant steps. She still couldn't quite wrap her head around that she was headed for the scarlet and gold instead of the black and yellow entourage. She thought, and believed, she was going to be a Hufflepuff but Mr. Old Sorting Hat thought otherwise. And asgjdfkbdkgblg it was that. She was a Gryffindor now. Might as well make the most out of it. Briefly, she wondered if her family would be disappointed that she wasn't a Hufflepuff.
...But was immediately brought back to the present by an older girl's (Anna) loud announcement of Quidditch tryouts (OoooOOooooh. That sounded FUN! Were first years allowed in on that?) as she distractedly took a seat next to a boy (Lucas) who said something about being a second year. "Hi!" She offered in greeting.
And now Harri, the messy haired one, was slowly forgetting her earlier dilemmas: not being sorted into Hufflepuff and the disappearance of her toad, while she watched the interactions in the table. It didn't seem THAT bad, after all. Maybe Gryffindor will grow on her.
MAYBE.
Barely a few minutes into her seat, though, Harri felt something press on the tops of her feet, making her lean back on her seat to check under the table, as if an animal was climbing over them. And it was exactly what's happening although instead of a mere animal, it was a house elf. One she knew. "OH! Toddles! Whatever are you doing under there?"
