A low roar was the only proof that it was there. He did not immediately take the stage, even after the ringmaster's introduction. The Chimaera was waiting.
Once the red sparks were casted, the light sneaking through the underside of the curtain, the head of a lion slowly peeked through. First a snout, a pair of whiskers, and a set of large sharp teeth. Fierce yellow eyes followed, then a furry mane.
The beast growled. Eyeing the ringmaster like he was a piece of meat. The lion, mind focused on nothing but the man, lowered its head to the ground...
Without warning, Leonidas pounced and the rest of his body, dark goat legs and hooves, and thick green dragon tail, slid through the curtain.
Instantly it collided with an invisible shield, causing it to bang its hooves against it as another growl escaped its mouth. The hybrid gave the shield a loud whack with his dragon tail before giving up on trying to break through.
But the Chimaera wasn't done yet. He began to circle the ringmaster. The man would have to stop cowering behind an invisible shield eventually. If not, then the lion-goat-dragon would feast on other prey that was oh so conveniently nearby...
