"Just in case I'll be sure to pack you some scented candles, The Little Book of Calm, colouring books, meditation music, Tibetan singing bowls," Like the ones her mother had given them a few anniversaries ago, "a miniature zen garden, incense, a yoga mat... what else?" Yes, what other ridiculous stress-relieving things could she put in a care package for him? She'd do it too, partly for the lulz and partly because she genuinely would rather he roll his eyes at his silly wife and smile about it than actually get stressed, considering how potentially stressful his new job could be. "I'd love you even if you were as bald as an egg, the kids might be embarrassed to be seen with you if you come home without hair though, my love." She grinned at him and resumed her slow walk around, looking at the mirrors - the back of HER head had been just as it should be, glossy brown hair, no frizz, so she didn't need to linger in front of that one. "I'd never ask you to go to all that trouble for me, darling." His tone mimicked the sincerity he was so graciously trying to play off. "Much easier to just pack yourself." He followed along behind her, still casting the occasional glance at the mirrors. "I can unpack everything else in my trunk, pop you in there. Stress shows up and there you are. The perfect gift." The absolute best. He'd forget everything else for sure. "The children.....we can pack up and send to your parents--or mine, alternating maybe," otherwise his mother dearest would never let him get some quiet again, "they can ship them to us, when we're done cuddling them we send them back."
Why had this plan never been thought of before? It was perfect if you asked him. So convenient. Was that what other parents did?
The bald as an egg earned a proper cringe. It came fully equipped with a shudder and a pull of his face to display his discomfort. Whether she loved him with it or not. "I'd be inclined to agree with the children. I wouldn't wanna be seen with me either." And at that he patted at the back of his head. It was an absent-minded sort of gesture as he considered the possibility further. "Depending on how much I end up missing you, the kids will end up having a lot more Hogsmeade weekends than they know what to do with." And he couldn't see them complaining about that.
