“Ze show is very good.”
The announcement seemed to come from nowhere, yet in fact it hadn’t. Katerina knew that there were people waiting for Augustus to start the creature shows, and she’d been as excited as any seventeen-year-old who had grown up a member of the carnival. Mamasha had trained her well in her own skill set, but that hadn’t stopped the girl from befriending the others. Not to mention carnival-goers wherever they settled.
Executing a perfect backflip into the seat next to the man with the two twins, she tilted her head to one side as she effortlessly lifted one leg to rest behind her shoulders, better to observe the people she’d spoken to. The show really was very good, after all.
