Thanks to the efficiency of January, Charles Hollingberry was on grandfather duty today. Well, at least for his lunch break. It gave him not only the opportunity to be seen by and mingle with the public - rather than exist as some mysterious being shrouded by the oftentimes bleak walls of the Ministry - but almost more importantly he was able to take his grandson out for a bit of much needed shopping. Of course he had seen Potage's Cauldron Shop next door, but there was a bit of loyalty to Slug and Jiggers Apothecary from his own school days. Not to mention his persistent peach of a daughter had been VERY adamant about purchasing this new cauldron from here. Which had Charles rather keen on having a word with the shopkeeper.

"This way, m'boy," he beckoned his grandson along with while gleefully holding his hand as though the boy were still five and needed guidance. And the reminder to not touch or otherwise stack ingredients.

Rather accustomed to grandpa's antics by now, Eiji permitted the man to hold his hand and even held it back with some trepidation. He had not been particularly keen on all the looks and rubbing elbows that came when going out with grandpa these days, preferring the quiet privacy that they had once had before he, well, before he had become Minister for Magic. He was proud, of course, and mum and dad were too...Eiji just preferred not to be in the spotlight. Thankfully grandpa didn't ask question upon question about Eloise.

Speaking of...he missed her.

But first things first. A new cauldron.

"I know, grandpa," he sighed, feet a little heavy as he was dragged about the shop. "Dad used to take me here a lot before I started Hogwarts, remember?" Glancing at the shelves, he wondered if he could get grandpa to but him some more ingredients for his stock...beyond what Professor Noble required. Though the budding third year preferred to collect his own ingredients rather than purchase them, but there were just some things not easily come by - if at all - on the Hogwarts grounds.

It was the sound of hiccuping that alerted the Slytherin to the presence of another, and his pale green-hazel eyes peered around until he spotted --- "....a house elf?" Naturally, given his mum, he knew who the elves at Hogwarts were and only one ever hiccuped like that. "Pips?"
